He just doesn't know it yet!
Albuquerque Zoo
This was Jessie's first trip to the zoo! And even though I'm sure she won't remember it, I'm glad we came because she had a blast!
Her favorites were the zebras - she said "cool!" each time we stopped to see them, the elephants, gorillas, and the sea lions.

Camping on the beach
This weekends adventure was a camping trip at Elephant Butte State Park. We played in the water and had a nice fire on the beach with friends! This is my new FAVORITE type of camping!
Fun at the Library
Every Friday and Saturday there are activities at the library for kids as part of their summer reading program.
Jessie has had a lot of fun coloring and playing with stickers.

Skinny dipping
On Saturday we visited Springtime campground. It was a really fun spot, but it was really hot and there wasn't any water to play in. So, we left the campground earlier than expected and set out to find water - not an easy task in New Mexico...
We found Elephant Butte Reservoir, or at least the river that runs into the reservoir and went for an impromptu swim. It quickly became a nude beach for Jessie!

Playing in the sun
Thanks to our new friends, the Stephens, Jessie had a great time playing outside while Reid shot his bow!
Very Large Array
Because it is close to Magdalena, we took a trip to see the VLA. These satellite dishes are 82' in diameter and are used by scientists to study stuff in space that Reid and I have no interest in.
But, I did see them in the movie Contact and in Independence Day and thought it might be interesting to learn about them since they are so close to us....
