Our Little Cowgirl

Camping

We have been spending a lot of weekends camping this summer.  Two weekends ago we met some friends at Park Lake and had a great time!

Piggy Tails

4th of July

My day started with a hike up Mount Helena with a few of the cheerleaders and my fellow coaches!  It was a beautiful day and the view from the top of the mountain was gorgeous!

Jessie got some new bows from Jaylyn to wear for the 4th of July

After practice Reid, Jessie, Gunner and I hiked up Refrigerator Canyon

Our stopping point along the trail

I think there is supposed to be a trail along this canyon, but it was all under water

Madsen Reunion

My brother and his family came to visit this last week and we had a blast!  We started the week by blessing Jessie in church on Sunday, then we laid sod in our yard Monday (fun!).  On Tuesday they left Helena and drove to Bozeman.  We came to Bozeman on Friday morning and hiked up to Pioneer Falls.  Libby, Michael, and Poppa Mike rode the horses and Jessie rode in the back pack on Reid's back.  Then on Saturday we drove out to the Ruby Reservoir for some fishing, garnet hunting, and a picnic.

Jessie was getting a little too much sun so she stole her grandpa's hat

Gunner was hunting as usual.  Point!

Our family started going to the Ruby for the 4th of July in the late 70's with a big group of friends.  I'm not sure what year we stopped going, but it had to be when I was in high school.  We had a lot of fun riding the four wheelers, fishing, and playing in the water each year and wanted to take our families to see our favorite camping spot.  As usual it was hot, dry, windy, and covered in bugs!  But we had a great day!

Jessie's Blessing

Jessie was blessed on June 26th by her dad in our ward at church.  Standing in the circle with Reid was her Grandpa Kirk and her uncles Jesse, Shawn, and Ken.
Her dress was made by her Grandma Diane and is the same dress that Joss, Olive, Charlee, and Esme wore for their blessings.  Jessie also wore this dress for our sealing in the temple.
